The Cami

One year ago I stood in @torrid for a solid two hours trying to convince myself that it was ok to budget a $19 black cami for the chance at a dream.

I had just signed with @peakmodels and I was headed to my first casting. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew who I was and who I wanted to represent in this industry. All the mentors I looked up to always had a good fitting pair of black jeans and a cami for digitals. It’s not that I couldn’t afford the cami - it’s that it represented exactly why I wanted to be a model: the feeling I would get every time I was in a dressing room. And going after this big of a dream didn’t come without a bit of risk or fear. A year ago and today, I’m still that 5’6”, size 16 girl. But I’m owning a different f word. FIERCE.

I now own 3 of these cami’s. And being a represented model has changed my world, my body, my confidence and my voice. So let me tell you this: if it’s still in your mind, it’s worth taking the risk. Buy the cami, and follow the dream that everyone told you would never come true.
